Hi newbie here!

Juz got myself a Sony A200 with 18-70 kit lens. Thinking of getting a travel/walkabout lens. Care to share which I shd get,,an 18-200 or 18-250mm and should i get a Sony, Sigma or Tamron lenses???

If I were you I would go for the Sony 18-250mm lens... coz both lens have a F6.3 at the long end.... :)
 

You can try to test shoot a bit more shots on your 18-70mm before you make the decision of making another lens purchase. You might find that the focal length covered might be all that you need for walkabout, or you might need a wider or faster lens ( just throwing ideas to illustrate ;p )

As to the brands of lenses u might find plenty of user reviews online.

18-250 is a better lens than the 18-200~ :thumbsup:
 

If you can afford the Sony 18-250mm then go for it. It's definitely better than the rest. Below would be my order of preference.

Sony 18-250mm -> Tamron 18-250mm -> Minolta 18-200mm -> Sigma 18-200mm
 

Compared to the Nikon & Canon's lens with a similar range.. Sony's are consider much cheaper.... :bsmilie:
