at e back of my head i always know Sg is & always will be rather an exciting place... :bsmilie:

now, where do i sign up? do early birds get a goody bag starter kit?

its $1 million, but after taxes and all, maybe much less..haha. But still enough to buy a flat, which is pretty cool.

"Where oh where can selamat be?"

I'm thinking he's either comfortably camped in a flat somewhere, or he's long gone across the border.

Maybe Mr Salamat himself might find it attractive enough to turn himself in...

den he wont even get a cent. e cash reward is for leads & info to his capture.

e reward was not meant to lure him out. if it were he'll use e cash & build a cosy seperate cell so he'll live in comfort.

I'm actually surprised it took so long for someone to come up with this idea. Not a million, but at least some reward.

Or in the case for S'poreans, some "Find the Fugitive" lucky draw. First prize win car, 2nd prize holiday to Tokyo, 3rd prize one karaoke set.

Mas Selamat wouldn't stand a chance.

my friend said
so cheapskate
waiting for private citizen/s to come up with the reward

(edit)
my own view is that it is not a matter of money
I think Sing is afraid of offering a reward and being seen as an enemy
thereby attacting more hate from the terrorists and causing more attacks in future
So in this way, Sing can say...hey, its not the state that is offering a reward ...it is offered by private citizens

Sing says its principle is No Reward
But when private citizens offer a reward, then it is acceptable. So much so that it is announced in Parliament by a high ranking politician.
I think this logic and reasoning fail.

Imagine the same being applied to the subject of organ trading.

citizens will be more upset if a foreigner from neighbouring country got the financial reward, wouldn't it? there will still be unhappy citizens if a (just turned) PR got it too rite?

I wonder if the media will make known if MS is ever finally caught, it was because of the $1000000 reward.

sure will..

just like how they announce where the first prize toto winner bought his ticket. they will mention where MS was found..

and they can tear down all the already yellow posters of him haha
