Guys, Having so much problems opening Raw files here, my CS3 extended can't do the job, and the format conversion feature in the software given by panasonic can't either and I don't know what is wrong. How does you guys do it? Any advise?

55 years is not old lah. U can always save up and get a D700 and let him try it out. But I think that it is true that having the D3 might land him afew big assignments since it is indeed a pro camera.:)
