24fps is the frame rate for movie, which means literally you can shoot film movie with D90, if you have the skill to do manual focusing.

I like D90's top LCD display and two dials (I am always in A mode, one for aperture and one for ISO), which makes it very easy to operate. 550D doesn't have these two.

With the experience of buying a Tokina lens in camera shop, I'd never buy a lens online as I understand now how important to test the lens with multiple copies. Lens IQ is really different from copy to copy, especially 3rd party brand.

I bought it in Taiwan, not because the lens is slightly cheaper there, but mainly due to too much NT$ left for some reasons.

I heard that UV light has actually not much effect on digital camera, cause there is already a very powerful UV filter inside before the image sensor. So I think the UV filter is actually more for protection purpose.

When I bought my Tokina 11-16, I spent half hour in the shop comparing 3 copies, mainly looking at focusing accuracy. The shop owner gave me the focusing chart to let me try. Among the 3 copies, there is one with obvious back focusing problem, the other two also have different sharpness quality...

I just tried with my Tokina 11-16, similiar result, pretty harsh bokeh. However, it doesn't bother me much - for me this lens is almost purely for landscape.

Macro means you can get pretty close to the object without focusing failure.

ISO1600 is generally ok for me. If it turns out to be too grainy, I use "Neat Image" to clean it.
