    Advice on D90

24fps is the frame rate for movie, which means literally you can shoot film movie with D90, if you have the skill to do manual focusing.

    Nikon D90 or Eos 550D?

I like D90's top LCD display and two dials (I am always in A mode, one for aperture and one for ISO), which makes it very easy to operate. 550D doesn't have these two.

    tokina WA lenses focusing issues

With the experience of buying a Tokina lens in camera shop, I'd never buy a lens online as I understand now how important to test the lens with multiple copies. Lens IQ is really different from copy to copy, especially 3rd party brand.

Focusing problem on Tokina 11 16

I did my homework of price comparison by checking yahoo.com.tw auction. The warranty is one year Taiwan local. But I need to travel to Taiwan quite often on business, so it is not an issue for me. I don't remember the name of the shop I bought (my Taiwanese friend keeps the invoice for me), but...

Focusing problem on Tokina 11 16

I didn't bring my computer to the shop, just used the focusing chart the shop provided and checked the result from my D90 LCD (whcih is awesome!) That was my first time buying a lens. Before going there, I did some homework and learnt many from this forum, and found some more details on...

    Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

I have this lens for my D90. Agree with many friends mentioning above, AF is not critical for UWA landscape - most of time focus is at far end, and with UWA, the DOF is large as well. I use this lens mostly with MF and almost fix the focus at somewhere close to infinite. BTW, the good thing of...

Focusing problem on Tokina 11 16

I bought it in Taiwan, not because the lens is slightly cheaper there, but mainly due to too much NT$ left for some reasons.

How to choose UV Filter for 18-105mm

I heard that UV light has actually not much effect on digital camera, cause there is already a very powerful UV filter inside before the image sensor. So I think the UV filter is actually more for protection purpose.

Focusing problem on Tokina 11 16

When I bought my Tokina 11-16, I spent half hour in the shop comparing 3 copies, mainly looking at focusing accuracy. The shop owner gave me the focusing chart to let me try. Among the 3 copies, there is one with obvious back focusing problem, the other two also have different sharpness quality...

    Tokina 11-16 Bokeh

I just tried with my Tokina 11-16, similiar result, pretty harsh bokeh. However, it doesn't bother me much - for me this lens is almost purely for landscape.

High ISO: Will D90 do a good job?

ISO1600 is generally ok for me. If it turns out to be too grainy, I use "Neat Image" to clean it.
