I remember last time, when the D3100 was launched, somebody ever bought the kit, but 'sell' the lens back to the shop (Alan Photo IIRC). The kit was $840, and I remember the 'body only' was $690. You might want to check out any of the shops, like AP as mentioned, or even iPhoto.

Hmm... The U$1199 one is body only isn't it? In SG, you can buy the kit at S$2,000 or so, and sell the lens back to shop at S$300. That would end you up with S$1,700 for body only without so much hassle. At least that's what I did.

Yes, get the Raynox DCR-250. That's how I get started with, from 18-55mm or 50mm lens, to 2nd hand 55-200mm lens, and still attach it to a 105mm macro lens for more magnification. It's very useful, so if you have interest, go with this inexpensive purchase first.
