how to get to punggol lalang field

There is a field, was there earlier this week. Not sure if it's the 'original' field, but the field we found is quite decent by itself. It is within the construction area, but you can walk in without climbing over anything. Not that it makes it any better, but we passed by a truck inside without...

    ways of resizing large images

Erm, DPI has no effect when viewing photos on LCD screens obviously, the pixel size of your screen is already fixed. It has virtually no use in discussing on-screen viewing. It's used when discussing printing. Ask where would the image most likely be published. If it is going to be printed, do...

    Articulating LCD....a must have?

it's 270 deg, you can't spin the screen around, but it does cover almost any angle you need. been using the e3 and e30 for a year now, i won't consider it a make-or-break feature, but it is extremely useful for low or high shots. very useful for tripod shooting as well

    E-3 + 50-200mm, need monopod?

I used to use the 50-200 with a monopod, but there was actually not much of a need. It's quite an easy lens to handle

Ever felt shy taking out your camera infront of other photographers?

I was shooting an ultimate frisbee match during the singapore open earlier this year. There was someone with a nikon 200mm f/2, who I think was the hired pro for the competition. I was shooting along with my olympus 50-200mm, and he was the one who first inquired about my equipment! Didn't feel...

Is the Kingston Elite Pro 133x 8gb good?

It's very slow, extremely so if you use RAW and burst shoot

    Max Aperture on Crop Sensor

In terms of exposure, the aperture is only dependent on the lens. This is because exposure is a factor of light intensity, it doesn't matter if you crop out the center part of the image circle, the intensity is still the same. Bokeh is a little more difficult to understand. It is related to the...

    using ur left eye.

I'm left eyed and right handed as well. I use that technique very often, getting sharp photos with unnaturally long exposure times with IS, as well as easier support for larger lenses without using a monopod. Now I just need to prepare myself for right eyed shooting when I enter NS next year...

    Shooting NDP from Shears Bridge

I'm quite sure that the IR will cover the fireworks launching platform at least. Is anyone nice enough to upload a shot just to let everyone have an idea of what to expect? =)

Need help to get macro lens (loss)

Sigma has the 105mm and 150mm macros for the 4/3 mount, both give 1:1 magnification for 135, meaning a 2:1 magnification for 4/3. Olympus has the 35mm and 50mm macro. The 35mm gives 1:1 magnification in 4/3 terms, the 50mm gives 1:2. To take shots of dragonfly eyes you need even higher...

What's your criteria selecting a photo backpack

Have been using a Crumpler UK Pretty Boy L (the backpack, not the sling), which has since been discontinued if I'm not wrong. Can fit all your stated barang barang, though camera wise might be a little tight fit depending on your equipment. I can fit an Oly 35-100 f/2 (slightly larger than...

Availability of Lumix Vario G 7-14mm for M4/3 in Singapore

Which panasonic m4/3 lens allegedly requires in-camera correction for distortion? Is it the 7-14? I remember looking at a RAW file from the G1 with the lens which had heavy barrel distortion. Don't take my words for truth though, this is what i read from my limited exposure to panasonic's m4/3...

I do hope the sensor will impove as well, not just the processor, else most of the benefits will only affect JPGs and not RAW

    Old Changi Hospital

Whoa you went alone! I would be really spooked out haha, the last time I visited OCH had at least 5 others with me. Immediately recognised shot 7, found that hanging lamp holder interesting as well. On my group's visit to OCH, we met an (indian?) on the way up who seems to be the security...

How to look like foreigner so can shoot in more public places

Look below 20/student-ish is an alternative. Went around with my friend on sunday to construction sites and esplanade/merlion area to take shots of the IR for his Art paper. Was expecting to be stopped at least once, but I suppose his childish looks (he looked the same since sec 1) helped a lot
