Ok to travel to a few countries?

TS, first things first, are you taking overnight trains? Have you worked out your train schedule to actually accomplish even half of what you set out to do? This is a basic requirement to even feasibly conquering half of what you want to do. The thing is that for most of the places you want...

    Canon MP-E65 Macro 1-5x Lens

I tried this at the recent Canon Roadshow because one my online friends said this was a lens he was eyeing. After trying it... wow... I don't think it's really possible to use decently on the field without a tripod...

    Canon Powershot N

If the lens is very wide when open, I'll most likely get this because me and the lady need a smaller camera to get self portraits since it's impossible to bring the tripod everywhere all the time, we don't trust people to handle our equipment (which they don't know how to anyway) and iphone not...

Focus Issue with Canon 50mm f/1.4 Prime Lens

what body are you using? If it's one with microadjustment, you might want to look into Focal Reikan. It costs more than $80.00, but you can use it on all your lenses and it will save you money and hassle in the long run.

Price of 85mm 1.2 in Singapore Too Expensive?

Not true. In no other country that I have gone are technological goods cheaper than Singapore (Japan, whole of Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, HK International Airport). Our strong dollar and high earning capacity makes it such that the only countries where you can get technological...

Price of 85mm 1.2 in Singapore Too Expensive?

I've asked my usual shop in Singapore for the price of a new 85mm f1.2 and I was offered $3550 for the lens. Perhaps this isn't the cheapest in Singapore for sure. However, as I'm currently in Tokyo on holiday, I could not resist the urge to splurge on the 85 1.2 which is on sale at...

    "Forcing" a shot

What you are dealing with sounds more like focal length issue. Typically if you take a close up shot with an uncorrected wide angle lens, the shape of the objects are skewered compared to what you see with your eyes. Try moving back or perhaps zooming to flatten the object.

    EOS M: M for Mirrorless

Can you imagine how much advertising and marketing presence Canon must have in it's homeland when in our tiny little island, you can't go a day without hearing or seeing something related to Canon? On the radio, on our buses, on our televisions, on our sponsors, the whole bloody Legoland...

Issues with and advice needed on taking good pictures with Canon S100

Bokeh just refers to the quality of the diffused background right? I usually just use the term bokeh for diffused backgrounds and background for... When there is really a background ^_^. Anyway, ecan. You can always "cheat" the blurred background by either using Gaussian blur on the background...

    dslr for a kid????

I saw a 10 yr old on Saturday with his father at Sungei Buloh rocking a 5d2 + 70-200 f2.8II. He was carrying it properly (obviously he had a better strap than Canon's neckbreaker) and shooting photos like a pro. As I have come to believe. If your child is interested in something, don't cheap...
