    Older man - Draganized

A little like HDR for people, I decided to play around with Photoshop and see how hard it was to achieve a "dragan" affect...might be a little too saturated for some people and not really as dark and brooding as many of Dragan's works, or the "300" effect as you see it sometimes now called on...

    A Night Stroll

Recently tagged along on a torch lit group outing exploring a bush path in Australia. I raced ahead a little of the group and this was the 30sec exposure as the all walked past torches swinging oblivious to the camera.

    West Australia

Spent a week biking around the South-West in Australia, and here are a few snapshots that I took when the hills were too steep and I needed a rest, or the need for water drove me to pause. 1. Along the road to Nillup 2. The end of the road at Port Augusta 3. Getting ready to head to...

    Rejected Red Dress

Just some shots that I rejected as part of my efforts for the Red Dress Competition, while I think they are "not bad" shots, and do capture a certain essence of the model, they still did not excite me enough to warrant entry. Posting just for your perusal and feel free to comment if you want :)

Anyone know why he is de-registered and gone? He was usually so complimentary and avoided flame wars.

    Military Aircraft. Illegal or not?

Is there any reason that one could not take (and post) photographs of Military Aircraft (inc. Helicopters) as they fly over the skies of Singapore? I am not talking about those on restricted land (ie: bases) or those involved in Airshows, but those just on general patrol loops and over public land?

    A Cold Bear

This was taken at Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo. I had managed to push my way to the front of a crowd so that I was only separated by the tank's glass. The bear was swimming rapid circles, coming close to the glass and turning at the last moment in a game of "flinch". I was simply awed at how...

    Play Ball!!!

Some house cleaning over the weekend led me to find a "lost CD" of photos I took a few years ago while holidaying in Chicago. 1. Batter up. 2. A Pitch! 3. A Pitch! 4. Safe!

    Underage is still Underage

I was going to post this in the thread from which inspired it: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440225 but decided it was not place to usurp the thread where a photographer is seeking real input into his work. I guess that in the face of the TNP/"nude" sensationalist "journalism"...

    A Model Release

I want to ask about the idea of a "Model Release Form", it is something that has cropped up on a few threads recently and I was surprised to find out how many photographers do not use these, especially in the case of underage Models...and I am wondering why not? For the photographer: 1. You...

    Shot Success Ratio

I remember when I used to shoot film, the uncertainty of capturing a shot had to be balanced between taking another and then the cost of development. This, of course during the "film" stage of learning meant that if I got 1-2 shots that I really liked out of a roll of film, I felt myself lucky...

    The Zoo

The Zoo really offers a day worth of great opportunities. So these are a few from my Sunday. I know they are all primates save the last one, but I like the idea of the brave bird sharing a meal with the Rhino.

    Singapore Noir

Took this shot in the colonial ditrict. I like the golden almost baroque Parisian feel, and the hint on something more on the left. Kept expecting the vampire Lestat to offer me the choice he never had. :-) ISO 200 1/4 f/5.6

    Time to stop lurking...so HI

Hi everyone, I have been 'stalking" this site for a few weeks as a passion for photography has slowly started to assert itself back over me and my spare time :) So I wanted to say "hi" and thank you for the inspiration and the "hints" on how to improve my time out and about clicking away...
