Had a look at the Samsung EX1. Not too bad. But, the lack of HD video (only does 640x480) breaks the deal for me.
The LX3 is still a good choice, but if can wait for LX4/5, then I would wait.
Thanks for the replies. He settled for the TZ3 due to the wide angle lens, big zoom and a small body size. Felt that the PQ was not bad and the colors were pretty vibrant. Price was right too.
The Canon S5is and Oly SP550 are nice, but are almost double the size and weight. Not exactly...
Got a LZ2 recently and noticed this with night shots (using night scene mode). If OIS is enabled, it looks a bit out of focus. But if I switch OIS off, it's not as bad. These 2 pics shot at max zoom (6x) with camera on tripod. Pics cropped.
Is this normal?
Sorry for the boring pics...;)...
Film won't become extinct. Production will slow down to a trickle and due to low production, cost will increase. Film will still be available, but at a pretty high price. Only the most loyal and rich film fans will buy them. My guess is that this will probably happen within the next 5 years...
Yes. I just got mine changed yesterday. They will check the batteries first to determine if they are really bad.
Call them first to arrange appointment.
:)
Thanks to CS - now maybe I can get my batteries replaced. Was very annoyed at how fast they lost power after charging. Even my 2100mah lasted a lot longer.
:)
A normal speed SD is good enough unless you have a high megapixel digicam or have a need for speed (eg. multiple shots continously).
For the general sub 6mp user, I think a normal speed one will suffice.
My 2 cts.
:D
Just got an old Vivitar 2800-D (low voltage trigger) flash for my FZ10. Works well. The 2800-D has TTL pins but no problems on the FZ10 as it sensed the flash when mounted.
The FZ10 manual states that you can set the external flash setting to "Preset" and the speed will be 1/60 and aperture...
The Canon S series (S30, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70) are very good digicams. I had an S30 before. My colleagues have the S45, S50 and S60. Very good digicams. Full manual control.
Only bad things are a bit heavy and bulky and uses proprietary batteries.
:)
The W1 (should be same as W5) manual settings are unrestricted shutter time and smallest/highest aperture adjustment.
I remember my old Canon A70 I could adjust the aperture too in a few increments instead of just highest/lowest.
Although not full manual controls, but it is enough for you...
Yes, recommended. I've owned other digicams before such as Canon S30, A70, Konica Minolta Z2 and a few others.
Based on my W1:
Optical zoom - pretty standard. Only 3X. Wish it had a bit more... ;)
> 4mp - yes, it's 5mp.
< $600 - yup. Probably $550 or less.
Pictbridge - yes
Good image...
I have recently got a W1. The manual controls are a little less than the Canon A series which I used to have but still more than enough to take a good night shots.
Any blurring will be caused by your hand shaking, not the camera. It will also be blur whatever camera you use. So, for night...
