    First Flower!

Flowers is also not my genre but i'll give my two cents worth. composition and exposure looks fine to me but there's a lack of the flowers standing out from the background here. what you can try on your next outing is go during early morning from 7 to 9am. flowers and generally nature related...

    Lost in the City?

The shot taken really does not rhyme with your title. You need a better engaging subject like a person if you want to better portray the feelings of lost, maybe a little girl/boy looking around amidst a crowded place with a hint of anxiety on the face. The first impression i got from the photo is...

Anyone heard b4 this on9 shop?

Never heard before but in any case do not be duped by them. It sounds too good to be true besides you cant gurantee they pass you the stuff after money transfer. Always buy personally from shops or reputable online retailers.

    Tanjiong at Muar, Malaysia

Refering to the topmost photo you put up for critique, that site has potential for a good landscape picture but your photo lacks the impact, dramatic lightning, colours which gives landscape life. Contrast is dull and flat, suggest you return again another time.

    Maya Beach,Thailand

Not a bad shot but feels it differs from your title, i was thinking landscape type but yours is more on close up which gives little indication of the beach. Can i ask why did you go so close to the boats, i guess you wanted to show people this was taken there cos of the thailand wording on the...

    Newbie Looking for Advice

Big hello and welcome to the club! the first choice with extended warranty is nice and the sal 50 f/1.8 lens is good for portraits while you did not state how much needed to top up for the twin lens kit, If you can afford its always a welcomed addition. whichever brand you go for, bottom deal is...

    Purple Flowers

To me the compo is fine but as you said the red leaves was distracting, whats your reason to include it, if so does it complement with your main intention of making the purple stalk prominent? i personally feel cropping away most of the red leaves leaving only a bit of indication would be...

    Squrrel & Swan at SBG

What metering did you use? i suppose you use centre for all the shots before you chanced upon the squirrel and swan hence either not enough time to change or either forgot :) The details in the fur is all blown out. Compo is not strong either, keep shooting.

    Ripples

Nice shots bro, though it was not your intention to use such a high iso but i think the grains helps to make it more abstract. My pick would be on the first one though.

    Iconic Punggol

i personally like the first photo. Some suggestions i have, 1) was it your intention to emphasize on the rocks as the evening sky colours was nice but your dof beyond the rocks was not strong 2) if your emphasis was not on the rocks alone, cropping part of the bottom would be good while...

    The Bloom of the Flowers.

The shot from this angle does not give me the feeling of bloom, the white line top of the flowers looks distracting as mentioned by cheguthamrin. the composition is weird even though the focus is on the second flower at the back, the oof flowers simply stand out too much makin the focused flower...

    Tips for a new photographer.

Stick with the kit lens if on budget. Shoot for a year after that you will know what lens you need to get but if got money to spare get the 55-250 also. This combo will last you for a long long time.

    New comer here! Hello

:nono: not worth at all if only going just for the video function plus its video features are limiting too. go get a camcorder instead. it be money well spent than buying d90 or selling off your d80 to fund for d90.
