Probably don't need a cabinet if you have only 1-2 cameras. But... the lx-3 is so convient to carry along for daily usage, i usually leave it in my bag even though i have a cabinet. Never encountered any fungus problem with my other carry around compacts.

Diana doesn't support cable release. Unlike the holga or most film cameras. The shutter assembly is on the lens barrel itself. There is a small gadget included that will enable you to hold the shutter open.
