Hi guys. I did some research online about these flashes and found that the phottix PPL-400 just released by reddotphotography is actually the rebranded DL 4.0. However, anyone have any idea whether the flash in the link posted by george671 about the NID500 is in singapore or can be ordered...

Frankly, I'm just excited about ETTL radio triggering from PW. Everything else is chocolate sauce :). That said, I wouldn't mind having them work with my elinchrom studio strobes.

Both can do ETTL. But mini is a transmittor while flex can do both. Why pay more to do the same thing (transmit) in a smaller package?

I did consider getting one before, but the weather in Singapore militates against any additional layers of clothing outdoors. A good backpack/slingbag will serve you better :)

I think unfortunately PW has always been expensive. But I like the design more! Less cumbersome when it's just a hotshoe attachment! And I think PWs have the best reputation for reliability for flash triggers!

I 2nd the 35L. Wide enough for environmental portraits but with superb bokeh closer to suject. 24L may distort the face too much if you get too close, but that depends on your taste

I'd guess you're shooting RAW. LR will generate it's own interpretation of the RAW data using adobe camera raw (ACR). The "preview" you see before LR generates it's own preview is actually a low resolution JPEG photo from the camera, hence colors and wb will change once LR generates it's own...

For situations when you have time to setup, tweak, and get that one shot you need, manual rocks. For situations when you're faced with ever changing light levels and no time to fanny around, ETTL's the way to go. RadioPoppers offer both options, compared to only manual for PWs or other generic...

Um its just an extension of the ETTL system, so if you mean placement as in "able to have line of sight to see the master", this it's unnecessary. You can put it anywhere within range and trigger the flashes using the radiopoppers, including behind objects/hidden inside stuff. ETTL *should* have...

Talking about IQ, 5D mk2 obviously outresolves the MK3. But subjectively, I still prefer the highlights of the MK3, which seems much more tolerant to overexposure without hue shifts than the 5D mk2 (skin tones shift towards orange/yellow). Again I stress this is SUBJECTIVE, after using the mk3...

I got both cameras, and I still use my Mk3 more often. It's a tribute to the "flawed" Mk3 autofocus that I can't live without it... :) Seriously you can't go wrong with 1 series cameras, except the cost.

Phew. The price is high for a set of radiopoppers... $747 USD for 1 transmitter and 2 recievers...

ST-E2 is already very useful. It's the fact that it's so good that's why people want to make it better! Do try to get it if you have compatible canon flashes.
