can F40fd charge directly without using the external charger?

I thinking of buying my fuji F31fd from Funna Southasia at $599 come with a 1GB, Case, Tripod, Screen Protector and a card reader or oem battery. i think i will get the oem battery. Do you guys think is a good deal?
