wouldn't it be better then til put a skylight on all the time instead of a uv protector since a skylight filters out the uv rays too ?

power adaptor for local voltage is not so much of a problem since it's only the states and japan that has another voltage right ?

thank you all for your input. the cost of an original charger is indeed ridiculous. using this universal charger doesn't in anyway spoil/reduce the capabilities of the batt. does it ? what other brands of batteries+batt.chargers are you guys using for the G3 ?

i think that one click is normal. about af. i don't know but the way mine focuses is that it will move in and out again to get the focus even though the focus point will be a little way out. don't know if you get my drift but it actually will bring the picture which is relatively in...

is there an advantage from those canon ones over the third party ones ? or just a matter of preference ?

thanks everybody for the tip. in fact, mine Is second hand. tried it out again later but the problem doesn't seem to come again. don't want to feel stupid by bringing it to the shop only for everything to work but what you guys said is true. better safe than sorry.
