I finally got the AW1 and I already owed the V1. Reason for getting was the underwater feature and also the GPS unit. The GPS locks fast (under 5 seconds for me) but yet to try the underwater feature.

For the past few trips I had been to, the 24-70 was my most used lens. It is wide enough and the 70mm end can be used for portrait as well. So why not give your 24-70 a try? You might fall in love with it again.

I got it for $890 (GST inclusive) from a photo shop in Funan Digital Mall... Impressive lens for its price range.

Amazon now ships to Singapore but on the website, the 18-35 costs $950+ Singapore dollars. Still cheaper to get it locally.

Camera is more responsive now after the firmware. Battery life is still the same though.

I will go for the Nikon 18-200mm. I used it for my travel when I was still using DX. Currently, I still own this lens and the DX body for backup camera system. Nice lens and good IQ.

Why not the 28-300? Cheap and good for practice and then upgrade when required...

I use the Aokatec and it comes with a small string to tie it to the camera strap. In the event when it drop off the socket, the GPS will not be lost. What I do not like about the Aokatec is that the GPS lock on is a bit slow.

Do get spare batteries as one battery might not last the whole day shoot!

When did you go to Chinatown? I went last Saturday and the crowd was crazy! It was around 10 pm to 11 pm.

What range do you normally shoot in DX before the upgrade to FX? Divide by 1.5 and that would be the lens you should be getting.
