    Yes, this cam takes very decent pictures up to ISO 800. ISO 1600 is still usable with some cleanup. Comparable to some entry level DSLR. Size and Weight was my reason buying it.

    FZ5... Noise when shaken

    It is stated in the Manual pg.111 Noise caused by internal mechanical movement when it is shaken. Not a malfunction. Cheers !
