I don't think it's a good idea to repaint the outer coating body. Just use it even the paint is coming off. The white coating just gives it a nice feel only. I believe any coating will slowly falls off after years of rough using.

Local Sigma will not give you the warrenty. so try getting locally to avoid the troublesome matters later which sigma is famous for. The range covered by this lens to too big, with means its gona be very slow AF. At f6.3 at the far end, its gona hunt if you shoot in low lightings.

seriously, i dont think it can be that bad.... If you test the camera body with a kit lens in a bright back contast background, all i can say is you dont even understand how to test a camera at all.
