Just get the 3rd party...even if you just manage to charge one batt the cam will still work. If u get rechargable AAs, you will probably have a lot of AAs when you decide to get a flash in future. That said, decision is still up to u. Cheers!

Original Canon ones are impossible to drop to $80...even second hands... Guess you will have to take a look at the phottix ones... :)
