    Minolta lens for Sony alpha?

Some Sony Alpha lenses are actually replicas of Minolta lenses, with just a change in appearances (due to Sony buying over Minolta's camera division and thus rebranded the lenses). The 100mm macro and 500mm reflex lenses are 2 examples.

JVC releases a hybrid camera/video camera

Looks like some old sony camera (F717) + NEX hybrid :bsmilie: But whats most interesting about this device that caught my attention isnt just the shape, but rather the lens!

    Pictures from Nex-5N

its quite easy to judge the aperture using such adapters. Just open ur aperture fully, note the shutter speed, then u can easily judge the aperture size when u slowly close the aperture and checking the shutter speed (ie shutter speed slowed by half = 1 stop aperture).

Full specs out: A77, A65, NEX 7 and NEX 5N

The touchscreen should be optional I hope (like how panasonic GH2 can disable touchscreen usage or limit it to a few functions). The universal hot shoe is a good move, to entice DSLR users from other cams to buy NEX as a secondary camera which can still use their flash.

A-mount Adapter for NEX which gives it Phase Detection AF

i think the adapter wont cannibalize sales of Sony DSLR/DSLTs though. The handling of the NEX and a DSLR is totally different, not everyone will like to use the NEX. Plus for professionals, they'll still prefer a DSLR type of camera for their job. So IMO the adapter will be good for NEX users...

    Help - Difficult to choose - NEX-5 or C3?

NEX C3 has better image quality due to the newer sensor. NEX 5 has better build, nicer grip. Pretty much depends on what u feel is more important to you.

    Sony NEX-7

the current E-mount lenses are all APS-C lenses, if Sony really do releases a FF NEX, they'll hv to release a new set of FF E-mount lenses just for it. Plus even as an APS-C lens, the E-mount lenses are already sooooo BIG! Cant imagine the size of FF lenses... IMO the size of the lens factor...

    Sony Alpha NEX-C3

The C3 has a much better sensor than the nex 5 though. While the nex 5 is using the old sensor (same one used in A550 and Nikon D90), the C3 comes with the latest sensor used in A55 and Nikon D7000. In terms of ISO, the A55 performs better than the A550, despite DSLTs suffering a 30% loss of...

    A55 with YN-462

non sony flash has the dark EVF/LCD problem with A33 and A55. I was at an outing and saw one bro whose A33 LCD is very dark when he is shooting at a smaller aperture using a non sony flash, apparently its due to the camera trying to give a "real" view of how dark the picture is. However when...

    Ricoh to buy Pentax

Ricoh is basically doing a "Sony" Back in 2006 Sony had zero presence in the SLR market. Minolta is in a financial crisis and is falling way behind in the DSLR race due to lack of funds and other problems, and Sony took this opportunity and bought over Minolta, continued the Alpha mount and...

Pentax Q up on official site

Sensor size comparison Interesting to note that some handphone's sensor are much bigger than the Pentax Q. Nokia N8 for example has a camera sensor around 30% bigger than the Pentax Q.

Pentax Q up on official site

the sensor is a little too small though...even smaller than good compact cameras. Its around 40% smaller than compact cameras like Olympus XZ-1 and Panasonic LX5.... even Canon's S95 has a 35% larger sensor than the Pentax Q... its pixel density might be worse than those compact cameras...

    Full frame or A55?

it really depends on what u want to use ur camera for. If u mainly shoot portraits, then u might wanna go for a full frame body, as FF sensors can give u shallower Depth of Field which is good for portraits. But for general shooting or for sports, and even macro, I would prefer the A55.

Why do you stick to Sony DSLR?

Obviously there are still people in this thread who speaks without proofs. I posted an AF speed comparison of phase detection AF and contrast detection AF in another thread before, so im just gonna cut and paste it here for everyone to see.
