Just curious that my friend who just went to japan told me that camera sold in japan is so cheap. When he send me the picture of the shop selling the camera lens with the price and I did a search here in the forum, the price seen to be quite similar.

Just want to know your comments or anyone here knows any camera shop in Japan sell used camera or lens real cheap.

Mainly looking at canon or sony as I was told these brand maker is from japan

Japan have many famous and renown camera brands, e.g. Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Pantax, Panasonic, Olympus...etc. But most are not made in Japan due to high cost. Most important is find the camera system that suits your needs instead of just chasing brands and end up something unsuitable that cost thousand of dollars.

sorry, don't know any reputable stores in Japan. but if visit Tokyo, Akihabara is the place for electronic products, like a electronic products small town, and not to forget special themed cafes! ;)

u need to join their points systems at the shops to enjoy the better discounts so be ready to buy a few items or go with an existing member with points to 'sell' to u. But often you save a little but the warranty is Japan only and does not cover it outside of Japan

HK gray prices are usually the best if price is the only consideration

For older vintage collectible cameras Japan is a great source but you pay for the condition and quality not because its cheap.

if not mistaken, HK camera body international warranty not covered in SG but lenses are.

Be mindful of Japan market versions. I saw the Sony cameras, menu is in Japanese, no language choices.

Lenses are fine.

Yodobashi and BIC Camera are choices. There are smaller retailers.
