Guys.. not sure if you've seen this. With all they hype, ups and downs on the Nikon Z series Mirrorless & Canon's EOS R.. it was mentioned on a few sites. Dont know if its credible, but guess we'll know on 25 Sep.

https://www.43rumors.com/ft4-new-pa...nt-not-leica-sl-mount-and-ship-in-march-2019/

On another post, it mentions that rumor on the street is that it will have an adapter for current MFT lenses and it will have cropped image (something like EFS lenses on Canon FF bodies i guess)..

Any feedback? Comments? I'll be interested as i think the only other people who can do a very good mirrorless FF would be Panasonic/Olympus after Sony. The Canon and Nikon announcements have been pretty bleh.. no ground breaking innovations... IMHO of course.

Latest Rumours from 43rumors.com

To sum up this what we know so far (FT5):
  • Panasonic will announce a new Full Frame Mirrorless system camera on September 25
  • Panasonic will only show a prototype with non finalized specs
  • The new camera will go on market by March 2019
  • Panasonic has designed this new sensor
  • The camera will have “way more” than 30 Megapixels
  • The camera has excellent video quality
These are the unconfirmed rumors (FT2….may be right or may be wrong):
  • The camera will take current MFT lenses via adapter
  • Costs around $3,000
  • Has no on sensor stabilization
  • 2 slot card
  • 4K with no crop in FF and 10 bit 4:2:2
  • weather sealed
  • Olympus is not joining the Panasonic FF system

Lidat have to create a special subforum for Panasonic liao...good news from Panasonic, hope they will give the incumbents a run for their money . This Photokina will be a lively one except Olympus & Ricoh.

You forgot about the new GR rumours, LP ;)

Will be very interesting for existing m43 users if true. It means all the m43 lenses can now use the full image circle in any aspect ratio.
Eg. You can do 18mmx18mm square crops instead of 13x13mm with the current m43 sensors.

You can also digitally flick from portrait to landscape and vice versa with any existing m43 lens.

What you’d likely loose is some resolution unless of course the FF sensor is very high.
For the same density as currently 20MP m43 sensors, you’d need 80MP FF.

You forgot about the new GR rumours, LP ;)
Haha GR FF? Ya but not sure whether that's coming at Photokina, I'll be really keen on GR than any other FF mirrorless haha

Having 2 card slots, weather sealed, and 4K with no crop in FF and 10 bit 4:2:2 are really good news.
However, without sensor stabilization and costs around USD 3,000, will it be a deal breaker ?

Nah.. don’t think FF but I think something might be announced end of this month.

hi guys..
another week plus before Sep 25.. so hope all these rumours are true.. or most are true.

43rumors.com has posted some new FT2 rumours (I.e. unverified).. but for your reading pleasure :
If some of these are right.. this is killer for video!.. 8k? omg for USD3k?

only the DFD is a little underwhelming.. would have preferred if Panasonic decided to go with PDAF or "dual pixel"

– HEVC & H.264
– can record 8K (30p, 10BIT external?) and that is main reason for going fullframe
– additional modes are 2k (240p), 2.7K, 4K (120p?), 6K (60p?)
– Super35 Mode for anamorphic shooters
– ProResRaw may be supported with FW upgrades (they will outline a roadmap similiar to GH5)
– special low light mode (whatever that means)
– Photo features comparable to G9
– AI based Autofocus – or DFD next generation. So enhancements can be expected here
Please keep in mind that this rumors is unverified and ranked as FT2 (20-30% chance this is right).

43rumors.com :

FT5 :
1) The new Panasonic FF has “more than 42 Megapixels”
2) The camera is designed to satisfy both, stilsl and video shooters!
