Many videographers don't use neckstraps because they get in the way of tripod, slider or gimbal shooting. Also the usual length of a typical photographer's strap is too long once you attach a long lens or a mattebox.
Yet, the neck is a fast, convenient place to hang a camera when swapping lens or rummaging for gear.

Solution: Tie a short length of paracord across the top of your SLR/mirrorless to connect the left and right eyelets . This create a short handle that allows the DSLR system to dangle lens-down securely. Wear a soft Neoprene dog collar. Get the XL size one for large dogs. It should fit most humans comfortably unless you are a bodybuilder. You can use two collars if you think one is too tight.
Attach the camera by the paracord handle to the dog collar's leash ring via a carabiner. This will allow the camera system to hang very high up on your torso and prevents the lens from hitting up against your belt buckle (or worse, your junk.)
