First time dSLR buyer needs advice; pls help

Have a feel of the body mate. If you like the 400D size, go for it. As for me, I actually sort of downgraded myself from 400D to a 20D! Just don't like the size (and feel) of the 400D even with battery grip on. Not wanting to spend to much for my infrequent hobby, I bought a 20D off my...

    18-55mm IS lens on a 20D

Hi All Any problem using the new Canon 18-55mm IS lens on a 20D? It is an EF-S lens and 20D does suppose to accept the EF-S lens. I could not find much review or feedback on the this 40D kit lens on a 20D. Cheers

Why Tamron is more popular than sigma?

Depending on what type of lens or specifics of Sigma and Tamron you would be refering to. What I don't like about the Sigma zoom lens is the barrel creeps. That would be the 18-200mm and 18-125mm I used to have. I don't have similar class Tamron but my 70-300mm LD with Macro is not bad. On the...

    Sigma 18-200 on 20D

My Picture quality for the 18-125mm was reasonable - for an amateur. But I don't like the lens creep on the Sigma 18-125mm. I bet the 18-200mm will be likewise

Difference between air con and air cooler

Hey dude. Don't waste your money buying air cooler. Won't do the job. Pretty humid too.

    18mm-200mm or 70mm-300mm.

If u don't lock the lens, when walking and pointing the lens downward, it will start to extend the barrel by itself due to the its natural weight.

    18mm-200mm or 70mm-300mm.

I have used the Sigma 18-200mm. Yes it is a good lens for that casual shoot. But I hate the lens creep. That is why it was gone after a month.

    18mm-200mm or 70mm-300mm.

If that is the case, just stick to the kit lens lah. It is not that bad. Just underated that's all. And since u a newbie, the learning curve for a new lens can be a bit steep. So instead, get a cheapo Canon 75-300mm mkIII just for a bit of flexibility as a 2nd lens.

    Canon 70-200mm f4L or Sigma 70-200mm f2.8??

Used to have the Canon 70-200mm f4L. Very good and quiet lens with fast focusing. Now on the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM. Heavy bugger. BUT F2.8 is just something I cannot do without.

    Canon 70-200mm f2.8L vs Sigma 70-200mm f2.8

To be frank, If I can afford it, definitely go for Canon L lens, IS or non-IS. But for a hobbyist, that shoot once in a while, with many mouths to feed, the Sigma is an affordable compromise.
