I think its a fair tradeoff. 6d is same price as d600. 6d might lose on AF points and FPS (4.5 vs 5.5) but gain GPS and wifi. Depending on your shooting style and type of photography you might prefer 1 over the other.

Would need to wait for reviews to find out but don't foresee this to be a problem. I take maybe 200-400 shots per day when on holiday and the BP-511 (I'm using 40d) can easily last 3-4 days before recharging. So maybe with GPS I need to recharge everyday. No big deal.

You can consider getting a netbook. Asus eeepc start at 399. Ext hdd draws power from the usb connection and many tablets that have a usb connection don't provide enough juice. Carrying around ext hdd with a tablet is also less elegant than just using a netbook which has everything in one.
