    Gunung Bromo

Went to Gunung Bromo in Dec 2010. Could say this was a bit foolhardy, considering the whole region was unstable - Merapi had just about subsided and Bromo was still very active. Our drive up to Cemoro Lawang at night was hairy to say the least - less than 2 meters visibility, slick, slippery...

    lens recommendation for d2x

my most often used general walkabout lens is the 24-120 - great for most travel situations. for longer reach i use the 70-200 and 80-400. at the wideangle end the 12-24 though this doesnt get used a lot. i am really happy with the 24-120. cheers

    D200 dynamic AF mode

a couple of thoughts: can you hear the lens chatter as it tries to follow the subject? you should be hearing this if focus is being tracked. maybe you need to change the a5 setting to long and see if it makes a difference. is there a setting that will permanently keep focus lock on?
