Hmm... The subject I took are my kid, not moving as she sat still and I used the center focusing because if I set to 'auto' mode, the focusing points are basically all over different spots when I depress the shutter button. I did try posting pictures here, hardly succeed as the message came...

Has anyone experience inconsistent focusing with the kit lens 18 - 55 on 500D? Some of my pictures taken were pin sharp but some were simply "off" focus. Though settings, subject and lighting remain the same.

Hi Muskidd, I am using this mechanical timer switch, cost me around $12 sometime back. May be cheaper these days. Still working find for me as I use it whenever I charge my batteries. Don't know if you can see the picture. I had problems inserting pictures...:dunno:
