I bought my 1290 at SLS below S$800 (I thought S$760) few months back. Extremely satisfied with the output. I highly recommed it to you. the new 2100 looks good from the spec but price on the high side. I believe in the region of 1200+

I am using the Kenco Pro 300 2x with my AFS 300 f/4 and AFDn 80-200 f/2.8. They all work together very well. I bought it in Hong Kong for about HK$900+ which is slightly over S$200.
