D30 is a really good value of money DSLR now. Although its only 3 megapixel, picture quality easily better then 4-5 megapixel prosumer cameras out there. Get a well maintained one and you would got it for a steal at about $1k for a second hand one now :) Only thing is the low light...

Try to get the hoya HMC UV filter...cost about $30 though but optically its better. If use a normal UV on a DSLR..like wasted leh :D Just my $0.02 :p
