I wouldn't get the kit lens if I were you. Save the money. Trawl around the buy and sell section and you can get the kit lens for about $60.

CP is a good place to look at tripods, but if you were to purchase one, I'd rather go to MS Color. Pricing is more consistent there.

For the purpose of photo storage, the Epson is the way to go. You will need to get an accessory for the ipod to enable it to interface with storage cards. ANd knowing ipod accessories, you know that is going to set you back more than a hundred bucks more.

$750 for the 350D is a great deal! Besides what the others have suggested, a good one to consider is the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 DC. There're a couple on sale in B&S.
