    AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G FX thread

The AF28/1.4 seems better than the AiS35/1.4.

I'm wondering if the 28/1.8 might be better.

You want small FF? Go Sony Alpha7 + Voigtlander 35/1.4 or 40/1.4 (Unfortunately the 35/1.2 is quite a bit bigger). That's what I call small. ;) http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2877/10895840336_3406ea43ff_o.jpg

    AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G FX thread

Unfortunately, there is significant barrel distortion unacceptable of a prime with the 35/1.8 DX when used on an FX. But it gives a nice character. :)

    AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G FX thread

If you have seen the 50/1.2 AiS, you will notice that the rear element is so huge that there is no space for the electrical contacts. So I don't think we will get to see anything faster than f/1.4 for the AF F-mount. Even the new 'Noct' 58mm is now only f/1.4.

    Exchange D600 for D610

I don't think MF with D600 can be any better experience than MF with A7. First, the focusing screen sux, no focusing aids like microprism/split-image, not even for Df which was touted to be created for nostalgia. Second, alignment, note that there are 3 light paths in the mirrorbox. One to the...

What would be your dream lens

In fact before the days of VR and digital, Nikon had the 24-120 first. And no, Nikon doesn't need an L designation on the lenses to show that they are good. You will have the last laugh when they starts mounting Nikon lenses on their Canon bodies.

    E-PL2 Red Spots

Not just a flare issue.. It looks like the AA filter is not designed properly. The red spots looks like the effect is caused by diffraction. Certainly doesn't look like something that can be fixed by firmware. -_-!

At the heart of Nikon is a Sony

-Nikon (Nippon Kogaku) made military optics. -Canon (Kwannon) contracted them to make lenses for their cameras. -Canon decided to make their own optics. -Nikon decided to make their own cameras. blah blah blah.. Digital age.. -Nikon designs their own sensors but contracted to someone else to...

    FX travel lens

Anyway, a good picture is not just all about sharpness. How many of your travel pictures end up in a 20" print? An 18-200VR is more than sharp enough for a 4R print. The only reason I would carry a faster lens would be because it would allow me to shoot in poorer lighting conditions. And yes...
