Just dump it in whatever bag I wish to carry out (never used camera bag for my case, too big) .. I am not worry about scratches on the body or lens.

if you choose 18-200 now, chances are when you improve your skill & expectation, you will go for 17-55. Why not get the best (17-55) if you can afford & decide if you need 50 1.4 later on. I would advise you to try out 18-200 & 17-55, see which len produce image that meet your expectation...

Forget it, how often do you shoot at f22. At f5.6 you are unlikely to see the spot anyway. After cleaning, how long does your sensor remain clean ? (till the next time you change lens ?)

This would be a great len for me to take on outing, VR great for night shot, small size relieve the pain I got from using 17-55. Just hope the len is not priced too high.

Unless you are into wild life photography, you should not use 135-200mm range much. Why not keep the tamron 18-50 & get a 85 f1.8. This way you get 2 great lens that give you decent image & not spending too much. Changing len is inconvience but it's a must if you piority is picture quality.

Depend on your shooting style .. I use 18-55 f2.8 (70%), 50 f1.4 & 85 f1.8 for all my church wedding. 70-200 IS is just too big that get in the way when i change len & I dun think the church would be so big to require 200mm range.

totally agree .. pro lens made better pic than pro body. Use nikon 17-55 f2.8 or 28-70 f2.8 on a D70 and you will know what i meant. Every 6 - 12 month there will be a better camera, it will never end. Using D300 with a 18-200 VR does not make sense due to the performance of the len. The...
