One thing I like about the Saeco Incanto is the fact that you can take the entire brew group out, soak it in water and clean it thoroughly. Also, their spare parts are quite reasonable priced too. With proper maintenance, it should last a long time.

Have you examined the histogram? It is a good way to judge if the picture is properly exposed. Quite often, the camera will choose to preserve highlights. Another way to check is to try shooting a grey card and checking where the peak of the histogram is. If it is consistently under-exposed...

I think this is quite normal. They have to safeguard their own agriculture.

Another way is to put 5 batteries on a foolscap paper, lining them side-by-side, but progressively slightly further (guided by the lines on the paper). Focus on the middle battery and take a picture. Check and see if the middle battery is the one most in-focus.
