3 months extended warranty is only for body, not lens.

Buy the ML-L3 remote. Press once to open, press again to close as you mentioned.

Clearly stated on nikon club that the extended warranty is for body only...

I guess selling the box with the lens makes it look well protected, rather than handing over just a lens to the buyer, will make it look like it could have been damaged during transportation... :)

No cover or protector for me... I never use them, even for my phone. Don't like an extra layer there distorting my LCD. No scratches so far. Even if it does get scratched somehow, it only cost $20 or so to replace that plastic screen as Godzilla Invades mentioned. It doesn't scratch that...

Should be $8 or $10, depending on the size you want...

Great lens other than the back/front focusing problem which you have to check before buying...

I read that the one without built-in motor has better focusing. Doesn't have back/front focusing problems... But hard to find those brand new, only 2nd hand...
