I used a class 4 Kingston 8GB SDHC card with my LX3, never had any problem with video taking.

You mean the one on the bottom left? Check your PM. ;)

LX3 is a very versatile and good camera as it is. Since you just got it, use it & play with it as often as you can for a few weeks/months first. Later on, when more sure of the areas (eg. landscape, night, macro) that you're interested in, then get the respective equipment like tripod...

Unfortunately that's one of the limits of LX3. Even my old TZ15 can zoom in/out during video shooting. :confused:
