Thanks Kit for the advice. Do you mind sharing some info on how your Sirui "disintegrated" please?

I am planning to get the Sirui S-2205-N tripod ($370) and the K10X ($129) ball head. It will cost a total of $499 according to TK Foto. My priorities are stability, height and a easy to use ball head with a spirit level. Are there better alternatives at this price range?
