5DMKII CMI (cannot make it) if you want fast AF. It cant even catch up with kids running around the field. Not that it is a bad camera just that it is not designed for sport / action photography.

the 1Ds batteries last more than 250 shots per charge!!! dont worry too much about the battery consumption.

Try using the I series cams......sure no problem :-) If you have to use the 550D better wrap it up like what all the old experts say. This cam is not water resistance and water will get into your cam. Another way is to ransack your wife/mother's kitchen for saran wrap and wrap ur cam tight...
