Answer to your question. Yes. Camera bodies devalue faster than lenses. Moreover, I've read that by combining consumer grade lens wif good bodies, you will see the lens' flaws much easily. Getting a D3 for someone like you (one year exp) is like getting a ferrari and driving on a 90km/h...

Personally you need to plan for the "must have" items 1) DSLR camera with kit lens (it's better to start off with basic lens first, speciality lens (e.g. telelens) might not suit your type of shooting later...hence it's better to start off small before you discover what you need). 2) UV...
