    Recommand camera for aquatic shooting

The best way to start will be to buy an instant camera with waterproof casing, usually around $15 - $20 in stores that print photos. After you shoot your first set, print out the results(@$20) and see if you are inspired to explore further.

    ID request (parakeet sp.)

Thanks sinner! There were four in the tree. They're still hanging around making their nice parakeet noises.

    ID request (parakeet sp.)

Sorry for the poor iq, but this angsana outside my office towers over my 2-storey block - too far for my 200mm. Here's a few shots taken yesterday afternoon. I think they're subadult Rose-ringed parakeets (aka Ring necked). Thanks in advance!

Photography Tips for 1st Leisure Dive

Yup. Safety first. Anyhow take photos. Do your equipment and buddy check, and maintaining situational awareness comes first. Don't kick the corals.

[ortega] A mobilephone photo a day

This doesn't look like Singapore... Is it in Japan? I like the textures and warmth in this shot.

My noob underwater pictures taken at Redang

I'm inspired to go snorkeling now. You've captured the views so nicely, and I'd love to try out my new GoPro in Redang, especially seeing how the young corals, giant clams and photogenic parrotfish/ sergeant majors/ rabbitfishes look. Haven't gone for far too long! Gotta wait til April/ May...

My noob underwater pictures taken at Redang

Love the second shot. Love the black tip shark shot. Go low, shoot up. That's the no. 1 rule for fish shots. Great start!

Causeway Trophy at Laguna National Golf CC

Thanks for your comment. It's really helpful, will remember next time, to check for perspective in composing the images.

    Wakeboard shots

Polariser can only be used on a fully sunny day. Even partial cloud will affect the results using CPL. I used CPL on some of my shots that day, but not these two shots. For focus, its probably difficult to use AI Servo in this situation. I personally use One Shot, because I know in advance...
