I believe the street price of the FE24-105 is about $1700. To me 24mm is a crucial FL, especially for indoor group shots. It may be one-stop slower but easily compensated with Sony FF low noise sensors.

Also, US price is USD799/SGD1070, 30% cheaper than Sg prices. So spend that $300 on the FE 24-105 instead.

I checked with Tamron USA and they said even if you buy a set from airport duty free in USA, the warranty is still only USA. Does not make sense to me.

Agree with earlier post, the after-sales support is also important. Please check with Tamron Japan if they have authorized distributor now in SG.

i was asking a rhetorical question.

you've been a member since 2008, much longer than even I have. and if you have to ask anyone for their opinion of a mid to entry-level lens in comparison to a premium-grade prime, you're just asking to get shot and quartered.

and one more thing: 75mm vs 35mm. you're clearly on the right track asking these sort of question.
