I got a FB message from Panasonic Sg earlier today. Seems like "We'll be announcing more details for LUMIX G9 on our page in February". Better than nothing I suppose..

I certainly fell off my chair..

I am sure it’s a capable camera but not my cup of tea in terms of size..

I am more interested in the GX9 when it’s available..

I like the capabilities of the G9 but I don't like the size as well. I bought into MFT because of the size, coming from FF. The G9 is practically the size of a Nikon D750 from I have seen on the web. The GX9 is a bit neither here nor there. I still have my EM-5mk1 and have resisted from upgrading so far because nothing has been compelling enough for me. The E-M1mk2 certainly came close but the price put me off. I will probably go and take a look at the G9 to assess myself.

Just saw the weight (658g with battery) and size of it, it's similar to Fuji XH1...really mid range DSLR flagships mirrorless are getting heavier these days.

I actually love the size and weight of the G9+PL12-60. The GX85 has given me numerous hand cramps while shooting during a few mtb events, despite my hand size being in between S/M gloves.

Oh, you have both now? I am also considering the GX9 and it looks to be pretty much the same as the GX85 size wise. I am mostly a holiday photographer and maybe will use it for events with family and friends. As such, I think the G9 may be a bit of an overkill. It would be interesting to learn from your experience using both the GX85 and the G9.

i really miss the days of the good old GF1.. nice handling and really small size..

how i wish the GM1/5 series can be revived too.. that was really mini.. almost like the pentax Q size..
