hi

looking to buy a lens hood and trying to save a few dollars.

any experts here have experience using JJC lens hood?

is it effective and durable?

thanks in advance

:)

No expert but have used various 3rd party lens hoods, including JJC, for my lenses. All work reasonably, some may be a bit looser or harder (gets looser over time) to put on than original.
Just get a compatible one, I try to avoid the 'universal' ones that screw into the filter thread as they take longer to remove and makes using filters difficult

I think JJC is ok, just that I don't like my lens hoods so tightly attached so I personally prefer the original manufacturer hoods. They are solid enough, will take a few bumps and or drops without breaking, but do keep in mind they are still just plastic.

Thanks thoongeng

Thanks pwnies5600

I will try out JJC. :)

cheers !

I used one for my Canon 10-18mm.
Attached firmly on and quite value for money.

As long as it's the correct size/design, functionality shouldn't be a problem. Durability - as long as it's not fragile its good enough for me, the reason some of us go for 3rd party accessories is cos when it does break, it's affordable enough to buy replacements.

I used JJC for all my MFT lenses without any worries. Go to Black Market at Peninsula to find the right fit.

Thanks Ah Keong

Thanks Kandinsky - you are right, almost half the price of original

Thanks jerlwh - Peninsula got sell JJC? only know of a shop at Plaza Singapura, but they have no stock. Planning to order from China via Lazada

cheers !

:)

yup, they have quite a range there. its on the 4th floor or something. You can google it up, black market at peninsula. I normally dont go for the original ones because of the price.. ;p
