Let’s start with the X-T20 first , shall we?
As widely anticipated, the X-T20 joins the X-T2, X-Pro2 and X100F with the APS-C sized 24.3MP X-TransTM CMOS III sensor and X-Processor Pro image processing engine.
The updated sensor and processor, along with a reworked AF algorithm, will boost the camera’s startup time and AF performance, dramatically improving its ability to track moving subjects, while the tilting touchscreen LCD monitor enables users to shoot from a variety of angles with ease.
The X-T20 also presents enhanced video functionality and is capable of capturing 4K movies with Fujifilm’s popular Film Simulation modes. Staying true to the X Series functional design ethos, the X-T20 also combines an SLR-style viewfinder and dial-based operation, and yes, it has a full function touch-screen. More on this later.

Key features on the FUJIFILM X-T20
Taking styling cues from the highly-regarded FUJIFILM X-T10, the design of the compact and lightweight X-T20 body bears all the hallmarks of an X Series camera. Both top and base plates are made of lightweight, but highly rigid, magnesium alloy.
The top plate features three precision-milled aluminium dials which give the X-T20 allowing users to easily adjust the aperture, shutter speed and shooting functions while focusing on picture composition.
The X-T20 adds a Video option to the Drive Dial to enable instantaneous switching from still photo shooting to the video recording mode.
The Exposure Compensation Dial now has the C position for exposure compensation up to ±5 stops, while the LCD monitor uses a tilting touchscreen panel for intuitive operation at almost any angle. The X-T20 is also equipped with an Auto mode selector lever for selecting the fully-automatic Advanced SR Auto mode where the camera chooses the optimum settings for a given scene.
The X-T20 sports a 3.0-inch 1.04M-dot tilting TFT color LCD and an EVF with a magnification of 0.62x and a display lag time of just 0.005sec,

The X-T20 features the new ACROS Film Simulation mode, while the larger phase detection AF area and updated algorithm deliver an AF speed of 0.06sec.at fastest speed. The X-T20 also offers 5.0fps live-view shooting, a quick start-up time of 0.4sec, shutter time lag of 0.050sec. and shooting interval of 0.25sec.
AF-C Custom Settings for moving subjects.
The X-T20 features AF-C Custom Settings where you can choose from five AF-C presets according to the way your chosen subject is moving. The AF algorithm has been revised for improved accuracy, resulting in a dramatic improvement when tracking a moving subject in the AF-C mode. The number of focusing points has been dramatically expanded from 49 in the previous model to 91 (up to 325 points). Approx. 40% of the imaging area (the center area containing 49 focusing points) is covered with phase detection AF pixels to form a fast and precise phase detection AF area that can be used in a variety of scenes.
High resolution and high definition 4K video recording
The X-T20 is capable of recording both Full HD and 4K video using the X Series’s Film Simulation effects. You can output recorded video to an external monitor via the HDMI port and input audio from an external microphone.
Intuitive operation with the touchscreen display
The LCD monitor uses a capacitive touchscreen panel to facilitate high-angle shots, taken from above a crowd of people or an obstacle, as well as low-angle shots. The touchscreen operations are full scale complete with touch to focus, touch to shoot and even allows dragging to forward and pinch to zoom during playback.

Accompanying the X-T20’s release is the Fujion XF50mm F2 R WR featuring a focal length equivalent to 76mm (in the 35mm film format) and a maximum aperture of F2.0 for beautiful bokeh and presents another option for the portrait user.
The compact and robust optic also offers high speed AF and weighs just 200g and provides an alternative for the X-mount system’s already reowned XF56/1.2 and XF56/1.2 APD lens.
The XF50/2 is housed in a metallic exterior for robustness and like almost all X-mount lenses, the aperture and focusing rings feature precise click stops and smooth damping for easy operation.
Its compact and lightweight design features 9 elements in 7 groups, including one aspherical ED lens, and has an inner focusing system, driven by a stepping motor for fast and silent autofocusing. Metal parts are used extensively on the exterior for a stylish, robust design with a premium feel, while the aperture and focusing rings have been designed to be comfortable and easy to use. The lens is also weather and dust resistant, and operates in temperatures as low as -10°C, making it ideal for shooting in a variety of conditions.
As expected, the XF50/2 is the newest in line to the reworked XF23, XF35, and all three share similar design traits.

I had the X-T20 and XF50F2 sample set for around 2 weeks, and during this period found the setup one of excellent balance between size and power. The X-T20 is the smallest and lightest option for anyone considering X-Trans III for sure.
If you have tested the difference between Fujifilm’s propriety X-Trans II and X-Trans III before, you will obviously understand the significant jump in camera performance too with now even more vibrant film-like colors, higher resolution and speedier performance.
Honestly, one more striking thing was when I mounted the XF50 on the X-T2, one of Fujifilm’s flagship models. Imagine everything on X-T20 being enhanced a further league, that’s in a nutshell. However I believe both models will display similar performance levels in the final production sets.

2. All images shared are SOOC JPEG, adjusted with my own preferred schemes. There was no support for the RAW files during the test period. Only 3 pieces of equipment was used: X-T2, X-T20 and XF50/2
3. The camera was returned to Fujifilm Asia Pacific at the end of the loan period and I was not paid at all in any form for the preview.
4. I shot almost 100% using Fujifilm’s film simulations on the X-Trans III sensor, mostly in Standard, ProNegH, and Acros.
If you have tested the difference between Fujifilm’s propriety X-Trans II and X-Trans III before, you will obviously understand the significant jump in camera performance too with now even more vibrant film-like colors, higher resolution and speedier performance.

Nope. The EVF in X-T2 is one of the best u can find in most cameras, across brands. The X-T20's is smaller in size and does not offer the same level of fps refresh rates as the X-T2, that said , its already better or as good as the EVFs i've tried across quite a few cameras across various brands.
