That statement is true before the age of internet and social media... you been reading lots of foreign news and Facebook posting regarding Singaporeans dying by the dozens due to local haze plus the spraying of pesticides ??

I don't think we can dispute the fact that haze due to burning of the forest has big impact on human health and were linked to death. Otherwise NEA would not have to ban open burning and we don't have to spend billions to address this concern.

Fumigation is also not a good method of controlling mosquitoes breeding but that is the least we could do to appease public that something is done. We definitely do not welcome haze and for Zika, we just have to embrace and treat it as part of another virus to contain it. Can we ever eliminate mosquitoes? We can only control their breeding grounds.
