Any "wow" spec or design?

IMO it depends on what you come from & your expectations.

If you're upgrading from a pocket, phone cam, xxxD or xxxxD series, the xxD series are quite "wow". Well even from 50D, I guess 80D is quite an improvement.

If you previously use a system where you had limited lens options, moving to Canon will give you access to many top lenses (plus big hole in the wallet).

Yes, depending on expectation :)

Improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF for smooth, fast and accurate autofocus with video and stills and able to focus down to -3
are fine features.

US release date is March 27. According to CSC staff today normally SG release will be 2-3 mths after US & Japan release.

Btw i am about to upgrade my camera body from 450D. I was eyeing the 7D Mk2 but with this announcement should i buy this instead. Mostly shooting landscape and potraits

For portrait and landscape shooters, Canon 6D Full frame DSLR is a better choice as the crop factor is a disadvantage for landscape and wide angle shooters. Canon 7D Mk 2 and EOS 70D, 80D are more suited to wildlife and bird shooters as more reach is needed.

is a real improve as compare to 70D. with increase on the pixel as I think most of us are waiting for

7D MK2 can also shoot good landscape. Not just suited for wildlife and birds. I use the 7D2 to shoot mostly landscape.

Wow factor as compared to recent release in other brands. :)

Definitely no wow factor. The Sony 6300 (APSC) is going beat it in all factors (other than lens selection). Has better ISO, speed, dynamic range, lighter body, better screen, 4K (lol canon it's 2016), PRICE! Seriously there is no reason to buy the 80D unless u really hate the Sony color and hate use OLED EVF (which I hate so I'm still Gona by the 5D4 when it comes out).

Every cameras can be used to shoot anything.
But there are some cameras that are more suitable for certain genre than others.

You seem to have the advantage of having detailed test and performance results. Or based on what are you making such statements?

I was quite impressed with what the 70D offered but found it tough to overcome the shutter sound for some weird reason. The 70D is already a lot of camera for what most people will use it for, myself included, let alone the 80D.

Hoping the actual user reviews will turn out well. Looks like a good budget pairing with the Sigma APSC zooms.

one selling point is selfie screen and touch focus shooting

Simple. Canon lying statements about their 'new 80D sensor' which if u research in detail, it's actually still an old sensor repackaged.

In that line, it's pretty easy to guess which sensor will be performing much better. Sony's consistency in self cannibalizing their own products shows that they are not afraid to give a cheap camera superb sensors even if they launched a pro camera that is double the cost of this new one, 6 mths ago. Just look at their A99.

Canon never does that. The 5D4 (which will come out 6-8 mths after the new 1D) will never have a newer and better sensor to protect the 1D price.

well say. BTW are u a Canon supporter at all times. This is because some of your frens is jumping to sony after it release the a7. It seems like Canon is not following the market needs too. Just curious why are u still staying them. hope you don't mind to share some insight with me.

Sometime it is difficult to explain.
I started with Nikon switch to Canon.
Switch back to nikon for NR and High ISO but back to Canon.
Switch to Fujifilm for the size and I but again back to Canon.
Now with Olympus for the AF speed and size but will switch back to Canon again once 5d4 or 6D2 release.
I can't rell you what so good about Canon. I only know what is bad about Canon.
I think it is the special character out of the canon image that keep bring me back.
