I been doing time lapse at sentosa resort world surrounding and was approached by personal their for stopping me taking time lapse. He told me to apply for permits and he calling security to handle me. Still claim he is into photography when cannot identify my camera. I now waiting for the security to approach me. See my time lapse completed by then or not.

Good luck

I moved to another location. If security approach me, I ask for black and white. Normal camera can be use, not dslr!? Very bias cause of their jealousy? No wonder singapore becoming a boring country day after day.

Where exactly are you? Did you check that this is public ground and not private? Get the facts right.

I go sentosa website and no such rules on this. A lot of security personal just make up rules of their own when they see a solid tripod n dslr with a big lens! Next time lapse half way, no security personal still. I saw photographer at train station, maybe that one of the reason as think of mbs sky park, no tripod too.

I told him, public but he insisted private. Fountain with some sculpture there. Just not far from waterfront station.

Your own personal impression might be as wrong as the guard's idea. Define the exact location. Also, just because there is no marking does not mean it's public.
Sentosa website is about the place in general. But specific spots can fall under different rules, depending on ownership / operations and security context.

He told me that tourist just take one or few n go. What is the difference of taking one or many if it's a private area? If private, a no photography sign should be there. Just like I pass by some parrots, was stopped as they do have a sign, I obey. Till now no security come after me as I already took about 400 photos for time lapse. I feels that those who ask us to stop, should provide prove else it might be personal issue with photographer when gear are uncommon to them.

I saw other also sitting down near the fountain and not approach at all. I initially also been told cannot sit down on the floor at that area. Really, need them to show prove no photography in written else it's up to them. Just like I been told ok to take photo on a sculpture by one security guard, then another one stops me when he patrols at a later time.

Time Lapse is what you are shooting. So where exactly are you stationed to take the shot precisely? Is that a popular vantage spot that a lot of people want to take shots from and you were taking up that sweet spot for a really long time doing your time lapse? That could be why you are told to move?

I have walk many parts of Sentosa with a D4 with a 14-24m lens still mounted to a Manfrotto 055 carbon tripod and my big back pack. Think that is a big enough target to get notice by security guards to stop me but I have never experiences that in Sentosa.

Once I exited the station waterfront, there is a fountain on the left. I aim at the structures and fountain. I sat on the floor after camera triggers off the time lapse. I was stunned when was approached by a girl n then she walk away. Then this man, by the name of Jeffery, together with another girl question me. Insisted he know photography and only tell security that I own some sort of dslr. If could not tell the name of the camera, his photography is just phone type? I laugh at his knowledge and he just walk away. Will write in to sentosa n rws to query on this.

I am not taking photos inside casino as other around me also take and go, I just stays longer, got suspected due to high end equipments. Now I finished both time lapse n back to chalet, wondering where is the security guards. I going to rws later, maybe that joker down there too, ha ha!

no picture no talk.

Pic on him or location? If him, u can go sentosa n ask a tall man name jeffery. For location, still in raw file, not cook yet. Ha ha!

Why don't you hire a model and a hotel room with waterbed in Santosa to do time lapse? That's how a true photographer shoots time lapse. :)

Within RWS Grounds / it's Hotels and it's respective attractions is private property... I know the head of security there.

BUT not sure about Whole Sentosa itself.
