I decided to try some photography to go along with the artfulness of it all this time. Maybe by the end of the year I will have evolved it into something more than just p&s. I like this first one because of the all the textures...you can almost feel them if you imagine deep enough. Made with a phone camera btw.
In the wonderful world of car seats one of the hardest things to pull off sewing wise is what we call a horseshoe. The following snap illustrates this a bit. You can't actually see the complete horseshoes because I got all artsy fartsy with it but i think you will get the idea. The ride is an old 80's era Bronco beater not a show car so the work done was done quick and dirty and cheap. Still looks great though. Most folks will not 'see' the several flaws. The piping is rather old fashioned but I expect it will come back in fashion someday. The latest greatest style is contrasting top stitching which has been going on for awhile now...in fact it is getting rather old if you ask me.
With my job it is nothing much to see really nice rides all of the time. Ever now and then though one gets to work on something very exceptional. This car is such an example. Just a really nice solid car. I fixed a seat badge that had come loose. Handsome car.
We were brought a batch of seats out of a 14 model car that were full of bullet holes every seat. We replaced panels. This hole was cool...the bullet went through the front cover through the foam through the square cutout of the metal frame and then clipped the back of the metal frame and on out through the back cover which has been removed here...there was no information given about what happened. No blood.
Our cameras, lenses, flashes, cards, etc are but tools to accomplish things with. Tools are some of our first inventions. Tools are critical to our survival. Tools are cool.
After about half a year at the new job I have been giving my own cubicle, an old made in West Germany Pfaff 1245, and my own personal entry door. Nice.
Any time I a chance to shoot a highway patrol car I do because the cars are wicked looking. Evil looking when they are behind you with their lights flashing! lol Look at the chips on that cattle guard...this guy spends a lot of time on the highway.
I have been thinking about my car photos and I have decided that everyone and their brother shoot cars to tight therefore I am going to try and start putting some space around my cars. Difficult on an equivalent to 70mm FOV crop camera. My opinion.
