I was at garden by the bay and recorded the whole music light show. Uploaded to YouTube, I thought ok liao. Then my friends cannot watch it, I wondering why. Back home, I found out that there are two song/music not allow to share due to copyright. Then no choice, let YouTube edit and some part don't have music/songs. Next time record show, beware of this issue if you going to upload to YouTube.

you need to accept the TOS and they will allow you to use the music/song but they will put Ad on your video. Usually English song no problem one, but japanese song are stricter.

the song you choose is very important, some let you use it, some don't .

There have been having all this for a while now and they are still finding more ways to monetize the 'free' services.

They have algorithm in place (though buggy at times) digital music recognition to pick up songs, singing and other detection bots that detects nudity..etc in real time upload. Even in cases where doing a podcast or you video filming say a family gathering person video and it caught some show or tune on the TV, that can get your video flagged too for rights infringement and violating fair use policies. People can also report your video which can get it shut down forcing you to write in to appeal. A hassle. So if someone is not right with you, he/she can bug you like that.

Amazing how far technology has gotten that it can do all that without a real person heh.. As I always say, as tech gets better, no job is safe.

Just look at this and ask yourself if this is really someone's programming or magic. Saw this used on Jimmy Fallon a few years back but now it is mainstream and available to everyone.

My timelapse which uploaded to YouTube also have music but all from free sources. Recent one, I told ok ba, since the music also played over at garden by the bay. Too bad, so many restrictions nowadays. Got to learn some thing new every time, cheers!

ok, before u use any music, goto this link :

https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/ad_supported_music

and search for the music you want to use( click on the ad-supported music). for example search for shake it off by taylor swift. you will see comment " Viewable everywhere except Germany " , then you can use it.

if it say "blocked in all countries", then don't bother to use it.

btw, youtube wont provide the song, you need to upload it yourself.

Hope that helps.

Cause I first time encounter such weird case. As I said, my time lapse upload with music also ok but the mp3 are foc, that's why no impact. This time is not I add the music in, is I recorded it and disallowed. Nvm, at least learned some thing new. :D
