Fun fact: This is one of my earliest photos ever taken with the A7II. Never uploaded it, but decided to after a friend of mine wanted to see the known WWII debris at the right side of the beach. So well, here it is.

Simple one. Never do I crop my horizons, but due to the haze, I've decided to, moreover the row of ships look awkward in the shot especially in haze.
I don't know why, but I hate this shot, and for no reason I uploaded it. Maybe I do have a soft spot for minimalist subjects, but however, no reason for it to be in B&W. Never envisioned the shot to be B&W in the first place, therefore it shall stay that way.

Back from busy school schedules and time to do what I always love doing.
I was scratching my head what I should shoot next and where should I begin after a 2 month hiatus. I guess not shooting anything for such a long time has led me incapable of getting up early to shoot sunrises.
I wanted to head to the newly opened Coney Island for exploration but ended up here because it rained. But before it poured the clouds were amazing and, being me, I admire long exposure photography -low and high key images- from the start.
PS, never realised until now that island is actually Pulau Ubin.

Dark, dramatic and mysterious. The motion of moving sky and sea water are mesmerizing.
However, I find the composition of the land is a little bit heavier to the right
I think he placed the land on the right because the water and the sky is pointing to the right...
Hahaha, true actually... IMO, come to think of it I should've capture it with a much tighter framing. Note to self: Bring 24-70 lens and don't just rely on 16-35. :bsmilie: Thanks guys.

Two things: testing Sony's firmware update that (finally) supports uncompressed 14 bit RAW images for the A7 II. Prior test(s) showed with the right exposure, I was able to create single image RAW images better than before without exposure stacking or HDR.
Second, odd as it may seem, I had a strange but vivid dream the night before; I was literally looking up at bridges that were so high in the sky, and they all led to nowhere. And I remembered clearly that it was all stormy and dark... Not sure about the significance of this weird dream but I had to get it down on picture cos' I just can't get it out of my head. LRT tracks and storm clouds were what I could think of that were similar enough to replicate what I saw.

You're on spot - at least with the earlier pics I took, haha.
I own an EOS 7D that I use for 6 years; parts of it like the flash unit is already broken and there's some sort of corrosion going on inside as I can't imagine the amount of abuse I went through with it over the years. All the recent images taken from June onwards, I'm currently using an A7II (but I don't own it).#358

Who knows when they'll be gone? Singapore is going through rapid changes that places like these will be gone sooner or later. This place reminded me of Sembawang stateland - a playground that I used to go years ago to watch sunrises in solitude, me and my camera.
PS, I'm not sure if it's just me but the dynamic range, highlight and shadow detail(s) retained with the A7II RAW output is far superior than it originally was. I don't know what kind of 14 bit uncompressed RAW data sorcery Sony did with their firmware update but it's looking good for sure.

2 Image HDR/DRI, 4x2 8 image 180° Multi-row panorama. Shot with the Sony A7II + 16-35mm f4. Toa Payoh, Singapore.
Initial plans were to go more than 180° (~230° panoramic view) at the left and right sides, but ended up cropping as the extra HDB structure didn't really contribute to the overall compositional form of the image and secondly, not exceeding the 17:9 aspect ratio.
This is actually my third attempt at this place, each capturing different lighting times during sunrise but decided to go with this and with a slightly increased exposure.
I swear, Toa Payoh is one of the few places in Singapore with infinite photographic possibilities. More coming soon, stay tuned.

Hey I apologise for the late reply.
Haha, this place is indeed public and for all to visit... Just that one time, I saw a snake so just keep a look out for them. :nono: Good thing is, that was a year ago. Just be vigilant.
It's the same route that goes to Punggol Beach, and it's located just right after Punggol Waterway Park at the right. You won't miss it as there's this big plot of empty land with a bunch of trees - That's the place. To go in, there's a narrow entrance just right after the road curves in, and you've reached paradise. :sweatsm:

Shot this sometime in early January after my first few attempts way back in late-December resulted in bad weather and some sunsets weren't what I was looking for. I wanted the evening light on the buildings and on the road and thus probably the best take by far... I guess finally got what I envisioned the scene to be.
