Highly trusted camera shops in Singapore

The salesman is doing the right thing.

Sale lesson 101,

#1, NOT everyone walk into your shop can be your customers.

#2, Quantifying Your Customer FIRST.

#3, Do Not WASTE time on people who won't buy from you.

Yes, maybe you should consider rephrasing your question in future if you don't want to get such reply. btw, tone and body language usually carrying the truth message than words.

i get your pointers, but i carry myself in the same manner and asks the same question to other shops and not get that kind of answer - others will gladly answer the question. in the end, they have succeeded in giving me the impression that they don't want my money and i will continue to stay away from them. lesson learned, end of story for me.

Based on my experience, the less I ask the more I get. Shops I buy from frequently just quote me the best and sometimes a bit more.

Hi, just checking as I am intending to buy Nikon D5500 with 18-55mm lens from Digitronics Synergy Ltd at chinatown. It's at $888.

1) Is the price roughly market price?
2) Is the shop reliable?

Don't do it

Chinatown, lucky plaza = tourist scam

That's why I like price tagged shops like TK Foto. Always have price tags. No need to ask salesman about prices.

Sometimes as a customer, I feel I'm like a beggar when I have to ask for the price, and the salesman give me the "you cannot afford to buy, dude" look.

And I never trust salesman in a no price tagged shop, because the price he quote you depends on how much he likes your face.

I think as long as you don't pay beyond RRP listed on the official manufacturer websites, it really can't be classified as a rip off. (With everything intact, of course)

So using this logic, just online, get the prices, get the list of authorized dealers, compare against the list of stores frequently mentioned here, and you should pretty safe there.

fully agree w what u said. (especially since i look poor and always wear slipper short)

i'm a beginner buying D850 any recommend on which trustworthy shop should i buy from?

I'm sure you have read through the thread and can conclude that no shop is 100% trustworthy. Do your homework, ask various shops for prices, check online prices, or pay school fees.

You can also see some shop names do keep coming up, just that they probably have moved as Funan has since closed. Good luck!

Agree with thoongeng. i just made a major investment for my camera and really called each and every shop. Just so u know even thou 2 shops are under the same company name but different location means u can get different price.

There is no reason for not sharing where you got your camera from and at which price. Of course you must be prepared to face the fact that others got it cheaper somewhere else ;)

ehh price was around 1 month ago maybe the rest drop liao but slr revolution was $300 cheaper than the next nearest i can find (body only and cash) opposite them there is a small shop next to alan photo $2 cheaper than slr revolution. I am a supporter of such small shops but too bad had to wait 1 hour for him to open and my parking coupon was due lol

Think i dont wanna know the price man lol but i do hope i got the lowest price at that time coz i called almost every camera shop on the list found in one of the older list on this forum itself. (cant find the link now but the info there was outdated anyway just relied on it for a list of shop).
