hihi.

After getting a camera i wanted to do a video collage. is there any free software that anyone could recommend for desktop?

I have tried using iMovie on my phone and its interface is good. But my com isnt a Macbook so I need an alternative to iMovie.

TIA people!!

If you are talking about those photo slideshow kind of video collage and you using Windows, there already a free "Movie Maker" in the system.
If you already have Microsoft Powerpoint, it can save in "*.wmv" format, but not sure are all versions able to do it.

can try animoto.com where you input the photos and music, it will auto-generate the actions and transitions for you

"Movie Maker" is pretty good for basic editing. Freeee is always good. If you want to add titling, music, voice over and not too concern with sharp editing of dropping in music at the precise point or sharp video footage editing like the way they do music video ... it is more then capable for any hobbyist.

If you want to get serious and want more power features for editing..etc. Then free may not cut it. For that I like Sony's Vega Pro 13 but it will cost you and it has a slightly steeper learning curve.

Before you trying anything else.... give Movie Maker a go.

movie maker. Use it to edit basic gaming video to post on the web. Free and quite usable.

If you feel that you need more features, you can check out Lightworks. It's free but export is limited to 720p MP4

thanks! what abt photo editing software? any recommendations?

For free photo editing software, Lightzone is recommended. If you're find with paying, Lightroom and Photoshop for sure.
